Montmartre and Pigalle, Paris, France
A quick tour (1/4 hour) of Pigalle and Montmartre in Paris, France. About the first two minutes of the video contains scenes of Pigalle (including the Moulin Rouge); Sacré-Cœur Basilica and the areas on Montmartre start at 03:11. Turn on closed captions if you want narration. I redid the captions on January 8 because the original captions were a bit messy. Most of the principal photography was carried out on March 7, 2011. I also have another video that shows parts of Montmartre that are off the beaten tourist track. Find it on my channel, or use the link at the end of this video.

I Drain My Own Elbow In Paris France And You Sick Monkeys Are Entertained! *GRAPHIC* - Mike Swick
Here I am in Paris, France while on a military support tour with my training partner and fellow UFC fighter Kyle Kingsbury. We weren't supposed to be in Paris but because a big Volcano erupted in Iceland, thats where we were re-routed. Having just had surgery and immediately visiting many bases in Germany, Belgium, and The Netherlands in the days before, my arm was needing some relief. I basically needed to drain it and either could go deal with the French doctors at a the French Hospital speaking the French... Or I could go to a local pharmacy, buy needles and do it myself. Always looking for a challenge, I decide to do it myself, film it, and try and 1-up my ear draining youtube video... So here it is, enjoy! Oh and tell people to watch this sick shit so I can succeed in my goal! For that I will surely put on a great show in my next UFC fight whenever I heal up.

Video of a 1993's song, released in 1996, by a collective of french r&b artists. talking about the bad way Paris (and France) came in: empty apartements unrent by owners while homeless increase, more cops surveillance, lost of hope and believe in politics: "la France Se Fige" ("France is getting rigid" - quotation). Metal Urbain - Paris Maquis - French Punk 1978
Metal Urbain - Paris Maquis - French Punk 1978
Rare vidéo clip from the original line up of Metal Urbain starring Clode Panik, Hermann Schwartz, Pat Luger and Eric Debris, filmed in early 1978. Paris Maquis was the a-side of Metal Urbain first single on Rough Trade records issued in december 1977. It also happened to be the first record ever issued by Rough Trade label. The shooting of this video clip went bad, with TV technicians of the time trying to sabotage the band by not allowing them full hearing of the song for good lip-sync, and editing the video on the spot. You can see it as the camera lingers on the unplugged microphones jack, and the singer struggling to hear the music to appear in sync. All this conflict started because lead singer Clode Panik asked for a microphone and a stand to use to perform, which was denied to him by the techs who thought that a singer using a microphone and a stand on TV was absurd. You can buy Metal Urbain CDs and Vinyl reissues from www.seventeenrecords.com including the excellent recent vinyl reissue of LES HOMMES MORTS SONT DANGEREUX LP in very LTD EDITION. Video and music are (c) Seventeen Records (c) Metal Urbain all rights reserved.

Their aim was to reproduce on the Champs-Elysées the refined atmosphere of their rue Royale establishment and to build a unique site, a symbol of the French « Art de vivre ». 365 days a year, from 7.30am to midnight, Ladurée serves breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner and late supper for approximately 3000 clients daily. On the first floor, the 'Eiffel Veranda' and the outdoor terrace overlook the glamorous Champs Elysées avenue. The bar, very successful after 7pm, offers any time classic short and long drinks as well as wines and liquors. One can also sit at the bar for a quick lunch. On the second floor, the five cozy dining rooms, decorated in the 'Second Empire' refined style by the French interior designer Jacques Garcia, were dedicated to the 19th century Parisian muses "Paeva", "Castiglione", "Mathilde" but also la Bibliothèque (the Library) and La Chocolaterie (the Chocolate Factory). The menu of the restaurant is inspired by French regional cooking, as well as other cooking of the world, and is continuously evolving with the seasons and its creations. euronews le mag - Art battle pitches France against US in Paris
In this battle, the warriors' weapons are palettes and paintbrushes: street artists from the US and France are fighting for the top prize in a so-called art battle at Paris' Forum des Halles. Inspired by battle rapping, which emerged in the US in the late 1970s, art battle is a live event in which artists have a given time to create a work of art in front of an audience, which is also the jury.... www.euronews.net

France Unrest: Street battles in Lyon, blocked Marseille airport, protests in Paris
France Unrest: Street battles in Lyon, blocked Marseille airport, protests in Paris
It's another day of unrest in France, where Marseille's airport has been blocked by protesters and further demonstrations are planned in Paris. It's all part of the anger at proposals to raise the retirement age from 60 to 62, which would still be one of the lowest in Europe. Violence broke out in Lyon on Thursday morning, where police chased rampaging youths who overturned a car. Lyon also saw clashes on Wednesday between youths and police over French President Nicolas Sarkozy's austerity measures. French protesters blockaded Marseille's airport on Thursday, ahead of a possible Senate vote on raising the retirement age. Hundreds of workers blocked all access to the main airport for about three hours. Students barricaded a Paris high school and planned protests nationwide later on Thursday, as the Senate wraps up protracted debate on a reform that Sarkozy calls crucial to his presidency. At the Turgot high school in central Paris approximately 150 students barracked the front doors of the school with rubbish bins.
